?
?
On February 1st, Multi-platinum hit makers Collective Soul will begin a ten date tour across Canada. Montreal-based rocker Jonas will join the tour in Edmonton on February 5th, for what will be his first ever live shows in Western Canada.
?
Collective Soul is touring in support of their latest ?Afterwords,? released on their own El Music Group label and distributed by Warner Music Canada.? The CD from the Georgia natives, debuted at #25 on the US Billboard Comprehensive Albums chart and #5 on Billboard?s Top Digital Albums chart the week of its August 2007 release. ?The first single ?Hollywood? hit the US Top 30 at Hot AC and Top 10 at AAA charts, and was recently featured in the promos for the new season of American Idol.? A new single ?All That I Know,? ?mixed by Mark Endert ( Madonna, Maroon 5, The Fray), has just been released to Canadian ?radio and will be followed up with a video directed by acclaimed photographer Kurt Iswarienko.
?
Collective Soul formed in 1994 and had 19 singles reach the Billboard charts. ?December? was one of seven songs to go to #1 on the Billboard Rock Tracks charts, along with the omnipresent upbeat pop number ?Shine,? the soaring ballad ?The World I Know,? ?Gel,? ?Blame,? and ?Precious Declaration? and the list goes on.? ?Afterwords? is the band?s seventh studio effort and follow-up to 2005?s acclaimed ?Youth? album, the first release on their own El Music Group label.
?

?
In 2004, Jonas released his self-title debut in his home province of Quebec.? Through strong radio airplay support and near legendary live performances alongside guitarist and songwriting partner Corey Diabo, he quickly gained a massive following.? His picture has graced the covers of magazines and entertainment pages throughout the province while the album Jonas was certified gold, earning him nominations for Quebec?s ADISQ Awards as Anglophone Album of the Year and the Juno award nominations as Best New Artist and Best Rock Album.? His first DVD, Jonas: Live?As We Roll was certified platinum and his second album, 2006?s Suite Life, landed him his second ADISQ nomination for Anglophone Album of the Year.? In February of 2007, Jonas fulfilled a lifelong dream by headlining Montreal?s Bell Centre.? Prior to going on stage at the Bell Centre, Jonas inked a world-wide record deal with Warner Music Canada which has led to the November 2007 release of his major label debut Promised Land. The album?s first single is the highly charged rocker ?Here She Comes.?

I am very disappointed to see that Collective Soul will not be making a trip to Vancouver Island in their Canadian Tour this year.

I would have really enjoyed seeing them in concert and feel the wet coast gets overlooked far to often by bands doing tours.

Got something to say?
