Now the U2 camp say Radiohead album was courageous and bold through a letter from Bono:
In the letter, printed in tomorrow’s (June 25) edition of NME, Bono says that he disagrees with his manager’s comments, calling “courageous and imaginative in trying to figure out some new relationship with their audience”.

It seems Bono is not only trying to save Africea, but his career as well. Maybe he should get a job at the UN

Los Lonely Boys Brotherhood Tour news - New Album "Forgiven" Out July 1st
June 24, 2008
LOS LONELY BOYS PREPARE TO EMBARK ON 20 DATE "BROTHERHOOD TOUR" WITH LOS LOBOS
SET TO RELEASE THIRD FULL LENGTH FORGIVEN
JULY 1ST ON EPIC RECORDSEpic Records is proud to announce that in conjunction with the upcoming July 1st release of Los Lonely Boys third studio album Forgiven, the band will embark upon the multi-date Brotherhood Tour with Los Lobos. The tour sees the two bands sharing the stage on 20 dates, kicking off July 18th at the Oregon Zoo Amphitheatre in Portland, OR and concluding with a performance at New York City’s Central Park Summerstage on the 14th of August.
Forgiven is the culmination of an incredibly rewarding recording process that sought to and succeeded in getting back to the roots of what makes Los Lonely Boys so special. the record is the Garza brother’s (Henry - vocals/guitar; Jo Jo - vocals/bass; Ringo - vocals/drums) third studio effort and was produced by the Grammy Award-winning producer and acclaimed drummer Steve Jordan (Keith Richards, John Mayer, Herbie Hancock), engineered by Niko Bolas (Neil Young, KISS, Don Henley, Sting, Fiona Apple), Dave Natale (Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac) and mixed by Manny Marroquin (Santana, Alicia Keys, Kanye West, T.I., Rihanna). Legendary New Orleans musician Dr. John guests on keyboards for the recordings, and Jordan adds percussion as well.
Jordan decided that he didn’t want to put the band into a typical studio situation. Instead, understanding the impact of their live sound and presence he simulated the band’s on-stage setting on a sound stage, paying attention to every detail, going so far as to recreate their front-of-house setup. The difference in approach is palpable throughout the record.

Sigur Rós will be returning for a full North American tour this Fall in support of their forthcoming full-length, Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust (English translation: with a buzz in our ears we play endlessly), hitting stores on June 24th. The dates, which begin on September 17th at New York City’s United Palace Theatre, will see the band playing some of the most prestigious venues in North America, including a show at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Sigur Rós recently performed a handful of live shows in North America this month, taking the band from Mexico to this year’s Bonnaroo Festival, to New York City, where they played two very amazing, very special shows, including one at the Museum of Modern Art. Mixing classic, fan-favorites from their critically-acclaimed catalogue with new songs from the brilliant Með suð í eyrum , Sigur Rós’ live show is the best it’s ever been. The shows this Fall will see the band comprised of Jón Thor Birgisson (vocals, guitar), Georg Holm (bass), Kjartan Sveinsson (keyboards/piano), and Orri Páll Dýrason (drums) performing as a four-piece for the first time in almost ten years.

Down with the French as they prove not to like free Radiohead tours?
Man this is hard to believe. How do the Parisians give free upfront free tickets to a Radiohead show. Are they much of bunch of snobs? It appears even Angelina lost Brad Pitt for a nite as he jetted off for a show. Haha! What do the French know?
Where is the love, Parisians?
“… Radiohead were left with a row of empty seats at a recent French concert after a ticket giveaway backfired. The eco-friendly group announced 50 passes were available for their show at Paris’ Bercy Arena but fans could only get by cycling to their record label’s offices in the French city.
However, Parisians were not prepared to get on their bikes so 35 tickets went unclaimed. A source said: “Radiohead are using their current world tour to highlight their commitment to green issues. They advise all concertgoers to use public transport and are doing all they can to make their carbon footprint as small as possible. Unfortunately the French didn’t appear to share their noble intentions and roundly ignored the free ticket tactic.”
MIKE MANGIONE COMING TO A BUS NEAR YOU DURING TOUR

MIKE MANGIONE COMING TO A BUS NEAR YOU DURING TOUR
Singer-songwriter Mike Mangione is one of ten Milwaukee artists selected for a program called “Local Live On The Drive,” which broadcasts live performance video clips on buses via Transit TV in Milwaukee, Chicago, Orlando, Atlanta and Los Angeles for the duration of the summer. His performance of “It’s Me Not You” (along with the other performance clips) was taped in the WMSE-FM studio in Milwaukee. The bus programming debuted on June 18th.
Mangione is set to release his album “Tenebrae” nationally via Oarfin Distribution on August 5th. With “Tenebrae” already enjoying a soft release on the internet, and reaching #9 on the Euro Americana Charts for January, Mangione has his sights set to top these achievements in 2008. Early favorable press on the forthcoming album has included the honor of being selected as New York Magazine’s pick of the week, the cover of M Magazine in Milwaukee, while Indie Launchpad defined “Tenebrae” as "a phenomenally great album." Indiemusicstop has labeled it "a definite must have for any fan of folk and indie music genres," and Illinois Entertainer called it “one of the best local releases.” The entire album has been licensed for use in upcoming seasons of multiple MTV shows such as Road Rules, Human Giant, My Super Sweet 16, and The Hills. The Oxygen Network licensed the entire album for use in their upcoming season of Bad Girls Club, as well as the Lifetime Network for use in their brand new show American Psychic.
Born in a northern suburb of Chicago and now residing in Milwaukee, Mangione is no stranger to movement and change. Following the 2005 release of “There and Back,” which charted CMJ at number 16, Mangione has logged approximately one hundred and fifty shows per year throughout the country including such notable performances as SXSW, Midwest Music Summit, Chicago’s Mobfest, Milwaukee’s Summerfest, and the band has been invited to perform at the World Youth Day Festival (the largest youth festival in the world) in Sydney, Australia in July 2008. Mangione has opened for performers such as Jamie Cullum, The Samples, Will Hoge, Jacks Mannequin, Lifehouse, Brian Vander Ark, and Michael McDermott, and will continue on the road in advance of and following the release of “Tenebrae” in August (tour schedule below).

Are you ready world? New U2 album out in October.
Just in time before the US presidential election. I would hold off Bono so you can complain to Obama on how the US is not paying enough for world hunger. Why don’t you just shut up and pay your Irish taxes just like everyone else.
U2 manager Paul McGuinness recently spoke on BBC radio about the super-band’s next album. When asked about when we can expect the album to be released McGuinnes said “I would think towards the end of October”.

Nobody band claims Coldplay ripped them off with proof of this music video footage
Tonight on Attack of the Show, Andrew Hoepfner, frontman for the band CREAKY BOARDS, joins G4 live from New York for his first TV interview since claiming plagiarism against one of the world’s biggest bands.
The previously-unknown band made headlines earlier this week, when they accused COLDPLAY of stealing one of their songs and posted a YouTube video in an attempt to prove it:

Forget selling albums, U2 focuses making millions on selling paintings
What’s that line about the rich getting richer? Well, check this out: U2 could nab as much as $12 million from selling a painting. Nice, huh?
The piece in question is by Jean-Michel Basquiat, and it’s been hanging at U2’s studio in Dublin for the past 20 years. The band purchased the painting in 1989 after if was spotted at a New York gallery by bassist Adam Clayton in 1989. U2 will auction the artwork off at Sotheby’s Contemporary Art auction in London on July 1. It is expected to sell for as much as $11.7 million.
The 6-foot-square acrylic, oil stick and collage canvas, was created in 1982 when the artist was 22 years old. Basquiat had an intense interest in music that he manifested through his art. He died in 1988 of a drug overdose.
Known as Untitled (Pecho/Oreja), and featuring Basquiat’s trademark primitive mask motif, Clayton found the piece at the Robert Miller Gallery and convinced his bandmates to collectively buy the painting.
"It seems especially appropriate that a work by Basquiat should end up in a music studio, since so much has been said about the relationship between his art and music," said Oliver Barker, of Sotheby’s Contemporary Art department.
No word yet on what U2 plan to do with the money. A nice vacation, perhaps?
