The singular international performer at Opening Ceremony will appear on The Today Show (NBC), Monday, August 11 in advance of her upcoming 2008 North American Fall Tour
The world’s biggest selling soprano, Sarah Brightman, was selected as the sole international performer in a pivotal performance at the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2008 World Olympics. She subsequently will be seen on The Today Show (NBC), Monday, August 11.
Brightman’s upcoming Olympic performance confirms her as one of the great theatrical sopranos of our time and fans await her much anticipated 2008 North American Fall Tour. Her first tour since 2004, Brightman will be performing 18 shows in the US , 10 shows in Canada and 4 shows in Mexico .
Over the past two and a half decades, Sarah Brightman has sold more than 26 million albums and over two million DVDs worldwide. Brightman is a pioneer in transcending and melding mainstream musical genres, from pop and Broadway showstoppers to operatic and classical arias. In 1992 she performed “Amigos Para Siempre” at the Closing Ceremony of the Barcelona Olympics in a duet with Jose Carreras.
