Sundance Channel Presents:
Live From Abbey Road
Thursdays at 10:00pm EST

Episode 10 Premieres Thursday, August 21

Rock on with the much admired Sundance series, Live From Abbey Road where interviews and performances from the most enthusiastic artists are featured. Kicking off episode 10 is English indie rock band, The Subways. The trio will perform “Oh Yeah” from their debut album, Young for Eternity. During its release week “Oh Yeah” reached number 25 in the UK Music Chart. On a softer note, the band will perform “Strawberry Blonde” and “I Won’t Let You Down” from their latest album, All or Nothing.

It’s time to get emotionally and musically involved with the tracks from Gnarls Barkley’s latest album, The Odd Couple. Due to popularity and curiosity, the profound album experienced a leak over the internet causing its release date to have to be pushed up. Starting off the set, vocalist/rapper, Cee-Lo performs “Whatever,” a song about conquering the long battle of loneliness. Then the duo dives into their third, blues-style single “Who’s Gonna Save My Soul” and wraps it up telling everyone not to be shocked by what really lies behind the smile with “Surprise.”

American jazz pianist and composer, Herbie Hancock will perform hits off his Grammy award winning album, River: The Joni Letters. Only the second jazz album to ever win a Grammy, River: The Joni Letters is a tribute to Hancock’s longtime friend, Joni Mitchell. Being in love and bringing out the best in someone is what “All I Want,” the first Mitchell song performed is essentially about. Finishing up with a collaboration of folk rock style with jazz inflections, Hancock will perform “Court and Spark,” a song from one of Joni Mitchell’s successful albums which remained at #2 on the Billboard charts for over four weeks. Sorting through the collection of songs composed by Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock chose the best to pay respect and create a perfect ending to Episode 10 of Live From Abbey Road.
