Not since Louis Armstrong and Jimmie “The Singing Brakeman” Rodgers (long known as The Father Of Country Music) teamed up in the 1930s has there been such a historic pairing of a jazz trumpeter and a country singer.
On October 28, Eagle Eye Media, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Eagle Rock Entertainment, is proud to release Live From Jazz At Lincoln Center New York City on DVD by legendary trumpeter and educator Wynton Marsalis and country music superstar/renegade Willie Nelson.
On this night, on this stage, over two nights in January ‘07, blues, jazz and country meld together to create an awesome whole. From New Orleans to Georgia, from the pens of such titans as Hoagy Carmichael, Jimmy Reed, Hank Williams, Duke Ellington, Willie himself and others, these two men give the concert of a lifetime.
This is the superb set of music that makes up the current Willie & Wynton Two Men With The Blues CD, for it is deep within the folds of the blues where these two seemingly diametrically-opposed giants find common ground. One now gets to see the rare chemistry, the knowing onstage looks, and the inherent joy of making this blissful music. Blues music, from its inception, has always been a music meant to uplift.
Tracks are intercut with interviews of both men expounding articulately about the material and the presentation.

Iconic Artist’s Sun Records Masters Remixed - Artists featured include Snoop Dogg
(Houston, TX) Compadre Records/Music World Music has announced the release of JOHNNY CASH REMIXED, featuring bold new interpretations of Johnny Cash classics from top music remixers and producers who were recruited to take the original master recordings and infuse them with the sounds and technology of modern music styles such as hip hop and dance music. The album, which includes a performance from Snoop Dogg, will be available in stores and online on January 27. A vinyl deluxe-edition will be available on September 23 in select independent record stores.
Johnny Cash Remixed is a tribute to the legacy of an American music icon whose work has touched every contemporary genre, and has the blessing and support of the custodians of Johnny Cash’s legacy.
“My father made his stead by defying the expected and accepted way of things” says John Carter Cash son of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash and Executive Producer of the Academy Award(c)-winning film, Walk the Line. “He set the standard at the same time. He would have loved this remix record. While it stays true to the original recordings, this CD touches on undiscovered ground. This is what my father was about: staying true to tradition while creating groundbreaking new music.”
Johnny Cash classics were licensed from Cash’s first record label, the legendary Sun Records, also the first record label home of luminaries such as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison. The original tracks, recorded with Cash’s first band the Tennessee Two from 1956-1959, were pure and stark, with only the essentials; guitar, light percussion and Johnny Cash’s unmistakable voice and presence. The new mixes maintain this fantastic charm and personality while filing out the sound and creating daring re-interpretations.
The remixed tracks (and remixers) include “I Walkte The Line” featuring Snoop Dogg (QDT, the new production team led by Snoop Dogg - featuring Snoop, Teddy Riley and DJ Quik), “Country Boy” (Sonny J, whose album was released in August on Astralwerks US), “Get Rhythm” (Philip Steir, the only remixer allowed to work with the Reprise Records Frank Sinatra collection), “Leave that Junk Alone” (Alabama 3, creators of The Sopranos theme song), “Folsom Prison Blues” (the legendary Pete Rock), “Hey Porter” (Mocean Worker, whose remix of Elvis Presley’s “Burnin’ Love” was used as a soundtrack to Honda’s Superbowl TV commercial), “Sugartime” (Kennedy, cornerstone of the new UK Dirty Pop movement), “Trail To Mexico” (indie favorite Mexican Institute of Sound/MIS), “Doin’ My Time” (The Heavy, critically-acclaimed UK-based band) and “Wide Open Road” (Count de Money) among others.
A documentary following the making will be included with the album, and was produced by Phear Creative in NYC. This short film features interviews from select remixers, filmed in their home studios, including Snoop Dogg captured at the Cash Recording Cabin in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Manchester Band Captured In-Concert At The Height Of Their 1990 Notoriety
n the early ’90s, Happy Mondays and the Stone Roses were the Kingpins of a burgeoning scene in Manchester, England. On October 21, Eagle Vision, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Eagle Rock Entertainment, will release on DVD Call The Cops by Happy Mondays, filmed in 1990 during the band’s stateside debut tour, in support of its Pills’n'Thrills And Bellyaches album.
Call The Cops combines brilliant full performance footage from The Sound Factory in New York City with rare behind-the-scenes material, giving the viewer an understanding of the band like never before. Actor/comedian Keith Allen and Factory Records founder Tony Wilson (1950-2007) appear in cameos.
Numerous pundits have tried to encapsulate The Manchester Sound into an easy amalgam of post-punk rock’n'roll and house-music electronica, but no one could quite compete with the energy and authenticity of Happy Mondays. The harmonies harkened back to an earlier Brit era and the propulsive drumming kept the beat alive to provide a non-stop dance mechanism. To that end, Shaun Ryder, Bez Berry, Gary Whelan and Kav Sandhu kept the beat alive, and on the 55-minute Call The Cops, New Yorkers are obviously impressed first-hand with the next wave of British rock innovation.

SEVENTH TREE ON NOVEMBER 25

Mute Records plans to release a special edition of Goldfrapp’s acclaimed album Seventh Tree. Due in the U.S. on November 25, the special edition features DVD footage, new artwork and additional photos. The DVD contains videos for “Happiness,” “A&E” and “Caravan Girl,” televised performances of “Clowns” and “Road to Somewhere,” a variety of live tracks from Goldfrapp’s June 21 performance at De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-sea, as well as exclusive backstage footage from the show. Released earlier this year on Mute Records, Seventh Tree went Gold its first week of release in the U.K. and has received immense praise from the likes of People, The New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar, Details, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly and more. Rolling Stone declares that the album is “a cinematic experience” and Marie Claire gushes that it’s “resolutely dreamy…perfect pop.”
In addition to Seventh Tree, Goldfrapp’s iTunes Originals Session was released on September 30, and is available for download. The digital package includes newly recorded versions laid down at New York City’s Electric Lady Studios of longtime Goldfrapp favorites “Strict Machine,” “Ooh La La,” and “Paper Bag” and Seventh Tree songs such as “Eat Yourself,” “Road To Somewhere” and “Little Bird.” The package also features selected album tracks from the full Goldfrapp catalog as well as commentary and anecdotes from the band.
Goldfrapp recently wrapped up a brief U.S. tour featuring a headlining show at Radio City Music Hall which received great reviews, with Bust Magazine saying they were “overwhelmed by the electro-glam rock, psych pop genius known as Goldfrapp,” and New York Magazine praising Alison Goldfrapp’s voice, which “zigzagged impressively from electro-sultriness to Nick Drake delicacy.”
Earlier this year Goldfrapp performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, on the “Late Show with Jay Leno,” on KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” and on NPR’s “World Café.” In June, “Good Morning America” featured the video for Seventh Tree’s first single “Happiness.” The video is now in rotation at VH1.
Furthermore Goldfrapp’s latest digital EP Caravan Girl is now available. The EP features the “Caravan Girl” album cut, a live choral version, a live acoustic version of “Monster Love” and an Animal Collective remix of the song “Little Bird.”
Goldfrapp are Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory. Their debut album Felt Mountain was released in 2000 to widespread acclaim and was shortlisted for the prestigious Mercury Prize in 2001. Goldfrapp’s second album Black Cherry followed in 2003 and marked a stylistic departure from its predecessor. In 2005, Goldfrapp returned with the critically-acclaimed and Grammy-nominated album Supernature.

New York, NY (October 3, 2008)—On October 28, Eagle Vision, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Eagle Rock Entertainment, will release on DVD the incredible two-hour feature film documentary A Technicolor Dream [pre-book date October 8, Retail Sales Price $14.98].
More than just the story of the British 1960s underground movement that culminates at “The 14-Hour Technicolor Dream” (an all-night happening at Alexandra Palace on April 29, 1967), it is also a fascinating look at a young band called Pink Floyd (with the mythic Syd Barrett). This DVD comes complete with three full bonus Pink Floyd performances with Barrett on guitar and vocals from 1967, as well as additional interviews with Roger Waters, Nick Mason and others not seen in the original BBC broadcast version.
From the London Free School and UFO Club to the Notting Hill Carnival, this is the story of an activist generation and how that generation—like their stateside counterparts—protested inequality and injustice. The sense of community that bonded such a generation to see wrongs and try to right them hasn’t been seen since. The marches, the mania, the fact that back then, activism was part of the daily fabric of youth culture, seems almost impossible in this day and age. Those who lived it, though, on either side of the Atlantic, know what it felt like. Those who didn’t, can only watch a film like this and imagine.
Two other big bands of the era—The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown and The Pretty Things—perform and are interviewed. The three complete Pink Floyd performances are “Astronomy Domine,” “Scarecrow” and “Arnold Layne.”

New York, NY (October 1, 2008)—Eagle Eye Media, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Eagle Rock Entertainment, will release British pop stylists Talk Talk on DVD Live At Montreux 1986 October 28 [pre-book date October 8, retail sales price $14.98].
Talk Talk is one of the most innovative and original British bands of the 1980s. The band is best known for its early synth-pop singles, but was critically hailed for its later experimental forays into ambient “post-rock” and a sophisticated quasi-jazz pop sound. In this 1986 performance, singer/songwriter Mark Hollis, guitarist John Turnbull, keyboardist Ian Curnow, percussionist Leroy Williams, keyboardist Rupert Black, percussionist Phil Reis, drummer Lee Harris and bassist Paul Webb show why they were “top of the pops.” Hollis proves to be a particularly fetching frontman, charismatic and charming.
Interest in Talk Talk was revived in 2003 when No Doubt recorded a cover version of “It’s My Life” which reached #5 in the U.S.
Talk Talk Live At Montreux 1986 documents the band’s only Montreux appearance. It runs approximately 90 minutes and contains 14 performances that draw a great response from the packed Swiss crowd.
